Here are the Retiform shell cards that I have been working on...
I didn't use glossy cs for these.
I decided that I prefer the glossy cardstock for this technique.
Now I need to track down some 'cream' glossy cardstock.
I think white is sometimes just too ...well... 'white'!
I am pleased with how they turned out though.
Here's a close up of two of them...
I added some "fish net" and a small shell to each card to finish them off.
HAD to distress the edges and ink the card base.
Oh I LOVE having inky fingers!
What else did I use...
Sahara Sand SU cs, Pacific Point SU Classic Ink and
a black American Crafts stamp marker because
the stamp set I used was Hero Arts 2002 Design with Shells
(It has boxes and the shell name around and under each shell and I just wanted the shell!)
plus a PSX 2001 Sand dollar, so cute!
The word 'beach' I inked from a 1998 Stampa Rosa stamp that says...
Beach Treasures
Simple Pleasures

Here's the PLUS!
Babez slept extra long this morning and I had another technique I saw
online...
Actually here...
I thought I would only get my setup ready but I managed to complete the card!!!
Woohooooo!
Now it's not as purdy as her's but it's not too bad for a first try.
You can see I missed inking part of the leaf so it's just book page there...
That's the trickiest part is trying to get your inking to "line up" with
where you need to stamp your image!
A solid image is best, of course!
I found an SU set with plenty of solid florals that I am going to try next.
They are single flowers and stems so I think I should do better with hitting
my inked areas.
I can move them where the ink is...
This image (I LOVE) but it was tricky to line up because it's all together!
I used Sir T!m's fabulous Distress inks in Peeled paint, Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick
and then I brayered over everything with Walnut Stain... after I tore my edges I used
Tea Dye to soften the white edge.
I used a piece of white computer paper behind the book page to give it some brightness behind the image.
She used white cs but I figured I could get away with the thinner paper because I was
going to be mounting it on the cardstock card base.
Oh...this image is from the SU set Inspired by Nature.
And see that there...more twine!
Such an inexpensive embellishment!!!
LOVE it!!!

Card Tally = 93
(I'm not counting the 3x3 notecards that I do for the mini totes.
I don't know why. LOL...)
These are fab! I may find myself CASing your beach card.
