Grab a drink...here's the story...
Several years ago I worked at Shopper's Drug Mart.
When the card lady came to refresh the cards she would have stacks of leftover envelopes.
I would take them for whatever reason...basically they were FREE!!!
A few years ago when my Granny passed on, my Mom was helping to clean out her apartment and so she ended up with a few boxes of odds and ends.
Going through these boxes in preparation for a garage sale I came across a stack of envelopes!
Mom said I could have them and so...
The other day when I was organizing my scrapspace I found them!
So, I decided to make a card for this bigger size of envelope...
most of the cards I make are half a sheet of regular sized cardstock...
much smaller...
Whew...this is quite the story...are you still with me?!?
Take a sip and read on...
Anyway... I measured the envelope and decided that I would use some delicious 12x12 Bazzill cardstock for the base... and this was my first card...
The Bazzill cs piece left over was big enough to do another card base and so I ended up with this as my second card... {Have another sip.}
{Now I should just back up and say that I stamped four of the floral images from the Stampin' Up set called Nature's Secret onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cs and also a full sheet of Very Vanilla cardstock with the background stamp By Definition}
NOT wanting to ADD to my scrapfiles I decided to pull out a sheet of Certainly Celery Stampin' Up cardstock [the regular 8.5x11 size] and use up the rest of the images...
These two cards were the result...
Now once I had finished up with them I had a few scraps left...
Call me obsessed but I didn't want to put them in the scrapfiles and they were still TOO big for my recycle paper bag too...
{If I can manage a few punches out of it, it's TOO BIG!!!}
I know...I know... and I'm not getting any help for it either so there!
LOL...
So I thought I would just pop together ONE more scrapcard...
Which resulted in this "last" card... {Take another sip.}
It's a mish mosh of leftovers and 'test' stamps...I think it's pretty cute!
BUT...what did I do...??
I punched out a couple of bigger florals from the coral cs....
I MADE MORE USABLE SCRAPS!!!
Fortunately I had some more of that crisp Certainly Celery SU cs and so I made a couple of 3x3 notecards!
Here they are... sooooooo cute!!!
{Drink up!}
So...what started out as one possibly two cards has snowballed into SEVEN!!!
Here's the whole cast...
Loverly aren't they??
I'm such a sucker for coral and green!
Do I still have some scraps on my desk?
YOU BET!
Am I going to attempt another scrapcard?
YESSIREE!
Am I card crazy?
MOST DEFINITELY!!!
{Got any beverage left?? If so, have another drink!}
I'll chalk it up to being 'Card Crazy', I just can't seem to recycle those paper scraps.
They talk to me...they say, "Wait, not yet! YOU can make me into another card! I'm still worth it"
I know... I know...I told you... Card Crazy!!!
Anyhow, here's what I used...
SU Inks - Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Cameo Coral
CS - SU Certainly Celery, SU Very Vanilla, Bazzill (the one that matched the SU Cameo Coral ink...I have NO idea what the name is!)
Vanilla Vellum
Kaiser Kraft pearls
SU Stamps - By Definition, Nature's Secret, Wonderful Words II
Hero Arts - Anytime Messages
Punches - big Floral, small floral, office hand punch circle.
There you have it.
After several weeks on the scrapdesk they've FINALLY made it to the web!
Enjoy!
I enjoyed making them!
OH!!! The babez are napping!!!
Better go see if I can make just ONE more card from whatever's left on my desk!!!
LOL...
Here it is!!!
